Hot air balloons will glow overhead and winemakers will pour their wines for sampling at the Nebraska Balloon and Wine Festival.
The annual festival will be Friday and Saturday, 5 p.m. to 11 p.m. both days, at the Coventry campus near 204th and Q Streets. Weather permitting, the balloons will launch at 7 p.m. and begin to glow at 9 p.m.
The festival will have continuous live music: High Heel on Friday, and Shurthing on Saturday.
Children can enjoy pony rides, inflatable bounce activities, an obstacle course and Monkey Motion Bungee Bouncing. The festival will also have an arts and crafts market.
Winemaking specialists will be there to discuss their wines and many regional vintners will be represented. The list of festival wineries includes James Arthur, Soaring Wings, Schilling Bridge, Glacial Till, Kimmel Orchard, Deer Springs, Mac's Creek, Cuthill's, Whiskey Run Creek, Wonder Rosa, Nissen, 17 Ranch, Feather River, Superior Estates, Miletta Vista, Sugar Clay and Prairie Crossing.
General admission at the gate: $7, adult; $5, children ages 6 to 12; and free for children 5 and under. There is also a $15 ticket that includes five sample tastes of wine or beer.
