UNL Homecoming Activities Planned for Sept. 24

The Nebraska Alumni Association is at the center of this year's homecoming activities. All alumni and fans are invited to the Wick Alumni Center's Holling Garden on Friday, Sept. 24, for an evening of festivities including Football Friday, the homecoming parade and the new homecoming Jester Competition. All activities are free. The schedule includes:

4:30 - 6 p.m.: Football Friday

Learn more about the 2010 Huskers with insights from Matt Davison and Tommie Frazier. Also includes kids’ games and great giveaways—football tickets, Champions Club passes, Husker memorabilia and more!

6 - 7 p.m. Homecoming Parade

Take in the floats, Husker music and spirit from the Wick Alumni Center’s Holling Garden at 16th and R streets. The Wick Center is right in the middle of the parade route.

7 - 8 p.m. Homecoming Pep Rally and Jester Competition

Watch students compete to be crowned UNL’s first-ever homecoming jester as they show what it takes to have the ultimate school spirit. The competition judges are former Huskers Tommie Frazier and Danny Noonan, Jenn Gilmore and 2009 homecoming king and queen Rob Tualaulelei and Beth Butler. The pep rally also includes the introduction of the 2010 homecoming royalty candidates, announcement of the parade float winners and words from NU football staff members Jake Wesch and T.J. Hollowell.
