Caniglia Field would have sat empty on Saturday anyway. UNO was set to open its football season on the road. But Jon Daniels passed for 195 yards and three touchdowns this week. Marcus Hall-Oliver had seven tackles and a sack. Dex Schwieger had four tackles. Trey Wilberger had an interception. But they didn't do that for the Mavericks ... well, Daniels and Hall-Oliver did — for the Mavericks of Minnesota State-Mankato. Schwieger and Wilberger are at the University of Nebraska at Kearney.
