Crop-duster hits power line

The city of Kimball and some areas near Sidney were left without power for about an hour Wednesday afternoon after a crop-dusting plane struck a power line in Wyoming.

The power outage affected cities in Wyoming, Nebraska and Colorado, according to Randy Wilkerson, public affairs specialist with Western Area Power Administration.

The crop-duster knocked out a power line about five miles east of Pine Bluffs, Wyo., about 1:45 p.m. The pilot, 48-year-old David A. Lord of Idaho, suffered only minor injuries to his right arm.

The plane, which is owned by Top Hat Aviation of Imperial, Neb., was destroyed.
